Hazardous Materials Questions

I am always available to answer Hazardous Materials questions. I have an extensive backround in hazmat and hazardous material removal. Any dumping reports need to be forwarded to this office or the DNR for followup.

Does the Health Department have an ordinance to regulate the discharge of hazardous materials?

Yes. The Human Health Hazard Ordinance. Allowing any discharge into the environment of toxic substances in any form in such a concentration as to endanger the public health is illegal. In addition, the Ordinance regulates the addition of any chemical or biological substance what would cause groundwater to be unpalatable or unfit for human consumption. The exception would be the addition of accepted chemicals for the cleansing of a well.
